Andesite Pool Deck & Terrace
Bush hammered grey andesite selected specifically for barefoot surface temperature in Gulf summer conditions, with a documented R12 wet slip rating for the hotel's liability requirements.
Project detail
The original design specified a dark stone. Surface-temperature testing on sample panels in Doha conditions ruled it out for a barefoot deck, and the specification moved to mid-grey andesite — a change made on evidence rather than preference.
The hotel operator required documented wet slip performance for the pool surround. Test data was supplied with the quotation and referenced against the delivered batch.
Coping was machined with a drop-face profile to conceal the pool shell edge, and cut to the setting-out drawing so the 130 linear metres landed on the corners without site cutting.
